Steroids are a man-made version of hormones produced by the body. When injected into a joint or muscle, such as through steroid injections, they help to reduce inflammation and can provide relief from pain, swelling, and stiffness. Additionally, patients may also consider hyaluronic acid injections for joint health. The effects of the steroid injection can take 48-72 hours to manifest; however, some patients may experience immediate results. Generally, the effects of the injection can last from 3-6 months, with some lasting up to a year, making them a viable option alongside joint aspirations.

Ostenil® Plus is a solution that includes hyaluronic acid, which can be delivered through hyaluronic acid injections. When injected into a joint, this treatment restores the normal balance between the breakdown and production of hyaluronic acid, serving as the essential lubricant that allows joints to move freely and smoothly. The effects of an Ostenil® Plus injection are typically felt within 2-4 weeks and can last for more than 6 months. In some cases, joint aspirations may be beneficial alongside both steroid injections and Ostenil® Plus injections, as they can be administered simultaneously.

This is a new product in the injection therapy market! Arthrosamid injections, which contain a high volume hydrogel, bind to the joint capsule and joint surfaces. This innovative product is designed for individuals suffering from severe knee joint pain, particularly in conditions such as knee osteoarthritis. Unlike traditional treatments like hyaluronic acid injections or steroid injections, Arthrosamid works by lining the joint with the hydrogel, creating a long-lasting buffer between the weight-bearing bony surfaces of the knee joint. This can lead to significant reductions in joint pain, providing a much-needed alternative to joint aspirations and other therapies.

Aspiration, which involves the removal of fluid from a swollen joint or other body area, is an effective treatment. This procedure can quickly reduce pain and restore joint movement. Additionally, joint aspirations can serve as a great intervention alongside options like hyaluronic acid injections or steroid injections, helping you get back on the road to recovery and achieve full fitness.

Hydrodilatation is a procedure designed to improve movement and alleviate pain in the shoulder joint. This technique involves stretching the joint capsule and reducing inflammation by injecting a mixture of sterile saline, local anaesthetic, and steroid injections directly into the shoulder joint. In some cases, hyaluronic acid injections may also be considered to enhance the treatment. The procedure can often provide instant relief for shoulder issues, particularly for conditions like frozen shoulder, and can complement joint aspirations if necessary.

Prolotherapy involves the injection of a sugar-based solution into an injured soft tissue. Such injections are commonly used for ligament injuries to the knee and ankle. In addition to prolotherapy, treatments like hyaluronic acid injections and steroid injections can also be considered. These injections can be administered as a single treatment or as a course of injections, depending upon the injury, and may be accompanied by joint aspirations to help relieve symptoms.

Cingal® offers a unique formulation of a fast-acting steroid with a protective hyaluronic acid, giving you a super hybrid injection that offers joint protection alongside a powerful anti-inflammatory effect.
