Andy Barker
MSc, BSc (Hons), MCSP, HCPC. M-Level Injection Therapy
Andy brings a wealth of elite sport and private practice experience, with over 15 years in both fields, specializing in physiotherapy and sports injury treatment.
Starting his career at the Leeds Rhinos in 2010, Andy quickly advanced, becoming the Head of Physiotherapy & Rehab the following year, a role he held until 2018.
After this, he consulted for the Football Association, a position he maintains today, providing support to the England football team both at home and away.
From 2021 to 2024, Andy served as a consultant physiotherapist for the England Rugby Men's Senior team and was part of the medical team at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France.
Additionally, Andy has experience in professional netball, boxing, and martial arts.
He graduated in Physiotherapy from the University of Bradford, earning a first-class honours degree, following a Bachelor of Science in Sports Performance Coaching from Leeds Metropolitan University.
With a keen interest in injury prevention and the biomechanics of movement, he completed a Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Biomechanics at Leeds Beckett University in 2017.
He has since undergone injection therapy training at Sheffield Hallam University and now leads our service at Leeds Joint Injections, focusing on effective methods for sports injury treatment.
Ben Harper
MSc, PG Cert, BSc, MCSP, HCPC, M-Level Injection Therapy, Independant Prescriber
Ben has over a decade of experience in physiotherapy, working at the highest levels of professional sport. Most recently, he served as a lead clinician for Team GB during the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games, specializing in sports injury treatment.
Alongside his clinic work, Ben is a consultant physiotherapist at GB Taekwondo. Previously, he gained invaluable experience in Rugby League with teams such as England, Leeds Rhinos, Castleford Tigers, Jamaica, and ultimately at Huddersfield Giants, where he was the Head of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation.
Ben possesses an extensive portfolio of postgraduate qualifications, holding master’s level certificates in Strength & Conditioning and Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Imaging, along with modules in applied clinical anatomy, independent prescribing, and injection therapy.
These qualifications empower him to utilize diagnostic ultrasound for accurate injury diagnosis and to provide ultrasound-guided injections at Leeds Joint Injections.
